Integrated Management Systems download presentation

INTRODUCTION

At Marine Risk Management uk we work with some of the world's biggest and smallest operators with regard to auditing, assessing and improving their management systems. The mandatory requirements of the ISM code, coupled with the ability to satisfy stakeholders means that every company needs to have an Integrated Management system, tailor made to their own particular requirements. Our experience with all ship types, from conventional cargo ships to cruise liners, from bulk carriers to LNG means that whatever your particular needs and requirements we can provide cost effective solutions to help companies achieve and retain an advantage.

Our experience also allows us to help and advise on bench-marking and introducing achievable, sustainable and realistic KPI's

TMSA

The success of the TMSA initiative, with the publication of TMSA2, is evidence that in today's ever more competitive world, where stakeholders at all level are becoming increasingly involved company's have to be far more transparent. A common area where systems fail is the inability to internally audit effectively. At MRMUK we provide independent, objective and "non-political" solutions to a company's management and auditing procedures. From a single vessel, through fleets and into the board room, we help companies cause success, rather than trying to prevent failure.

ISM & TMSA

ISM & TMSA = the International Safety Management Code and the later Tanker Manager Self Assessment guidelines. Essentially, neither of these concepts were, or are, new. Good companies already had in place processes and procedures that ensured that their business reputation was protected. However, as the world changes, when information is available immediately, globally and when a reputation can be ruined overnight, we take a holistic view of any company's operation and help develop systems, that work along the guidelines of ISO 9000-2000 and not ISO 9000-1994 as they are fundamentally different. We also include the requirements of the ISO 14000 series. With this "common sense" approach to management, we help companies get back on an even keel with creaking systems that are effectively worn out or by helping re-write new systems. Given our global exposure and almost unparalleled experience, best practice and bench-marking come as standard. As you would expect!

Bad information is BAD INFORMATION!

Good strategic decisions can only be made with the best and most up to date information available. Whilst that sounds straight forward, the sad fact of life is that with the benefit of over 4,000 ship inspections, the vast majority of problems are caused by bad, poor or missing information. People are either overloaded with either a meaningless pile of mumbo jumbo and consequently complete forms because they have to or, the procedures and requirements that have been given just do not work! At MRMUK we provide companies with the means to improve their systems, removing the onion skin layers of mystery, confusion and intrigue.
